I think there is no need to tell anything about Lays. We have been eating these potato chips as a snack since childhood. And even today, I never go to a movie without taking Lays Lays with me. I have personally tried all Lays flavours and Kurkure Flavours too. So I think I can give you details about all types of Lays flavours, their taste, price etc.
Let’s start with a basic introduction
Lay’s is a globally recognized brand of potato chips and is becoming more popular day by day as it endeavours to bring new unique Lay’s flavours to its consumers. The company is a subsidiary of PepsiCo, and it has built a strong presence in over 200 countries around the world. It first entered the Indian market in 1995. In India, this Lays brand has become a household name.
On social media platforms, you must have seen the memes trolling about the air inside the Lays packet. Yes, we all do know that a Lays packet has 60-70% of the air inside it. But that never deteriorated the quality and taste of Lays. Whatever may be the quantity inside the packet, lays will always be our choice in snacks
In this blog post, we will delve into the world of Lays Flavour Bands in India. And if possible we also try to include many new brands that are not available in your nearby store, but are available online.
Classic Salted Lays Flavour
As someone who has enjoyed Lay’s classic flavoured potato chips for many years, I can say that this Lays flavour is one of my favourite ones out there. This one has tried to maintain a perfect level of crispiness and fresh potato taste.
The taste of this snack becomes even more delicious when enjoyed with a chilled bottle of Pepsi or Coca-Cola. Every potato chip inside the packet has the same taste and they have maintained a consistency in the taste of every chip.
This Yellow Packet Lay’s flavour is definitely a great mix of crunchiness and unique Indian taste. And this combination of thinness and crispness, along with their fresh potato chips with a simple salty touch, is something I personally love about this Classic Salty Lays.

Barbecue flavoured
After knowing about this Lays flavour, I immediately ordered this flavour online. I was really excited to try this new one. And let me tell you, after tasting this flavour I can say that it won’t disappoint you. This new flavour has got an amazing sweetish, spicy, savoury, salty, grill, and jerky taste. These add-on things add a taste that is so much better than before.
Inside the packet, you will find fully ripe farm-grown potatoes packed to give a crispy and delicious texture. You will taste the spicy sweetness of BBQ sauce. This flavour gives an explosion of unforgettable taste to your taste buds. With each bite, I found myself enjoying the perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness.
I gave this flavour to some of my friends and family members. Some said they didn’t like the new changes to the BBQ flavour and some were actually impressed by it. While I understand everyone has different tastes, I personally find this new flavour a refreshing change.

Spanish Tomato Tango Lays flavour
I recently tried Lay’s Spanish Tomato Tango chips, and I must say, I was totally impressed. These chips are perfectly flavoured for an intense kick of tangy flavour that’s sure to satisfy your taste bud.
I will keep this flavour in a versatile category. This is because you can enjoy this flavour in any setting. You can use these relishes as snacks at home, take them on the go, serve them at a party, or enjoy them while watching a movie.
The flavours offer tangy tomato flavour. If you like the tangy taste or the taste of tomato then you will surely like its taste the most. The flavour of tomato can be felt in every bite, and also the chips are very crunchy to bite into.
But I think if you want to eat these chips with beverages like Pepsi, coke or thumbs up then this taste may not be right. This is because they have a sweet taste which can clash with the taste of these beverages. But other than that, these chips are perfect for snacking on their own.

American Style Cream and Onion
As a potato chip lover, I couldn’t resist trying the Lay’s Sour Cream & Onion Flavored Potato Chips. These chips are spiced with the tang of sour cream and mild onions.
When I first bought this flavour online, I was a bit doubtful about the taste because some reviews claimed that the chips tasted like plain chips, but after taking one bite I was satisfied. The first bite was crispy and full of the tangy and savoury taste of sour cream mixed with the mild onion flavour
The chips have more green stuff on them and this extra flavour makes a significant difference in the taste.

West Indies Hot n Sweet Chili
I think this is the most common flavour of Lays. But I don’t know why I have never tasted it. Maybe I tried it in my childhood and forgot later. So I recently tasted Lay’s West Indies Hot ‘n’ Sweet Chili flavour, and I was genuinely blown away by its flavour. I can say that this flavour has the right balance of heat and sweetness which is totally different from other Lay’s flavours that I have tasted earlier.
Eating these chips will give you the right amount of chilli flavour. All the spices are in the right proportion to give you the right amount of hotness in taste. Not just chilli but this flavour is also complemented by a light touch of sweetness.
Altogether, it will give an exciting taste experience. The heat of the chilli flavour was enough to give it a spicy kick, but the sweetness helped balance it out and made it enjoyable to eat. This flavour can not only be consumed in snacks, but you can also add this Lays flavour well with other foods. You can consume it with sandwiches, burgers and even with salads.

Wafer Style Tangy Treat
This flavour is somewhat different from other Lay’s flavoured chips, both in terms of composition and taste(Imli). In normal Lay’s packets, the chips have a wavy-type design. But in this flavour, the potato chips are plain and packed without any design cut on top.
The wafer-thin style of these chips is the perfect option for a light snack. All the ingredients of this flavour were perfectly balanced so that you can enjoy the right amount of spiciness and flavour of that Indian spice. The spice is vibrant with extra zingy flavour to each bite.
I liked the crunchiness and the Imli(Tamarind) of these chips the most. Thinly sliced potatoes add to their crunchiness. Anyone eating potatoes can easily tell that only the highest quality farm-grown potatoes were used to make these chips. They were light enough to eat without feeling too full, but still tasty enough to satisfy your taste buds.

Wafer Style Salt With Pepper
This flavour is almost identical to the previous one in composition and appearance. Although there is only a slight change in taste. After eating 2-3 chips you will feel the real taste of black pepper. Overall, its taste is mildly pungent. It tasted like fried oil while eating chips. I didn’t like the taste of it, but if it is available in your nearby area, you can try it.

Maxx Macho Chilli
If you are a lover of spicy food, I am sure, you will fall in love with this Lay’s flavour. This red and black coloured packet justifies the name given to it. The ridges of the chips not only give them an attractive look but also add a unique texture when you place the chip inside your mouth.
The macho chilli flavour is the star of the show here. You will enjoy the hot unique flavour and taste of singular chilli. Unlike the previous wafer-style flavour, they definitely aren’t plain potato chips.
Although you may find this flavour to be quite on the costlier side, I think the intensity of the flavour is worth the price. The crunchiness is so intense that a person with sensitive gums may find these chips a bit much and may not like to enjoy the taste next time around.

Chile Limon Flavour
This flavour has got a unique taste in its chips. A good combination of tangy lime and spicy chilli. The green-coloured packaging is attractive enough to grab the attention of any potential customers. Taste wise it is good but I did notice one thing, and that is they look small.
However, this relish can be a great snack while watching movies at home. I ordered this flavour online and found chips broken in some packets. And it disappointed me a little. But in terms of taste, it is at par with other similar flavours.

Peppery Cheddar Flavour
This flavour which has a combination of tangy sour cream and sharp cheddar, with a peppery kick, will give an awesome flavour explosion taste to your taste buds.
Like every Lay’s product, this flavour has the perfect crunch and the perfect combination of tangy sour cream and sharp cheddar cheese gives the chips a unique and delicious flavour. To be honest, I tried a lot to get this flavour online. And after 1-2 weeks finally I got 4 packets which I ordered from the bigbasket.com website. Cooked Jalapeno
Jalapeno is a medium-sized Mexican pepper and is a species of Capsicum annuum. This packet has delicious chips with the flavour of real jalapenos and is ready for your enjoyment.
It tastes quite good but is not too spicy. I love the flavour of jalapeno, but I don’t like too much heat or too spicy, so these chips are the perfect balance for me. The chips are crisp, spicy, and yellow/orange in colour.
They also have a wonderful crunch, which makes these chips a satisfying snack to eat. I think the company has changed the recipe formula of these chips because now thy tastes even better than earlier.

How it made our childhood awesome?
I am talking about my childhood days when I used to go to the local shop near me to buy a packet of Kurkure or Lays. Before Lays hit the market, there was a brand name called Uncle Chipps. But after trying Lay’s I started to forget about Uncle Chipps. In our school too, whenever our classmates had a birthday, we used to ask them for a packet of Lays. We used to carry a bunch of Lay’s packets while going for picnics, travelling in trains, or travelling to any place with our family. Even while watching movies, the second name that comes to our mind after the popcorn is Lays. And there are many instances where we have enjoyed Lays on many occasions in our childhood.
